Local Attractions
Mt Wilhelm
Mount Wilhelm is the highest mountain in Papua New Guinea at 4,509 metres. It is part of the Bismarck Range and the peak is the point where three provinces, Simbu, Jiwaka and Madang, meet. The peak is also known as Enduwa Kombuglu, or Kombugl’o Dimbin, in the local Kuman.
Mt Hagen Show
Perhaps the most famous cultural show in Papua New Guinea amongst locals, the Mount Hagen Show brings together sing-sing groups from all over the country in an amazing conglomeration of colour, beauty and culture.
Mt Hagen Market
Join the fun cultural and shopping experience at Mount Hagen Market, a local produce market with warm and welcoming sellers. Some of the more popular purchases for tourists include bilums and Highland hats, but you will also see bins of vegetables, prepared pigs and birds, and racks of traditional clothing.
